BULLS MAKE IT FIVE STRAIGHT TO OPEN SEASON
(Richmond, VA)Durham's Kevin Cash hit a two-out bases loaded double in the seventh, breaking a 2-2 tie, as the Bulls won their fifth straight to open the season, 6-3 over Richmond.
Cash's hit was followed by a passed ball, scoring another run, as the Bulls took control of the game against reliever Kevin Barry (0-1). Elijah Dukes had a two-run triple with two out in the fifth to tie the score. Dukes keyed a 10-hit attack with a single, double and triple.
Durham's bullpen allowed only one run over the final five innings. Justin Miller's two perfect innings with three stikeouts allowed him to earn his first win in a
Bulls uniform.
Durham tries to make it six straight on this eight-game road trip on Tuesday. Jason Hammel faces Anthony Lerew in a matchup of talented righties. Coverage on 620 the Bull begins at 6:30, with first pitch at seven.
