BULLS DROP SECOND STRAIGHT TO OPEN SEASON

(Toledo, OH) Jon Weber had a multi-hit game for a second straight day, but Toledo pounded out 12 hits in a 9-2 rout of the Bulls on Friday night.
The Mud Hens collected five hits off starter Mitch Talbot (0-1) in the first inning, scoring on a Timo Perez double to right, and a Brent Clevlen single to center. Toledo added an unearned run in the third to take a 3-0 lead. Jeff Larish gave the Mud Hens control of the game in the fifth with a three-run homer off reliever Ben Hendrickson for a 6-0 advantage.
The Bulls did tack on single runs in the sixth and seventh, but Toledo put the game away with a three-run seventh against Hendrickson and Nick DeBarr.
Weber, Justin Ruggiano and Fernando Perez each had two of Durham's 10 hits. The Bulls also went 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position. Derek Wathan had three hits and three runs scored to lead Toledo.
