BULLS EDGE COLUMBUS 4-3

(Columbus, OH) Outfielder Jason Pridie homered twice and doubled to help the Bulls come up with a 4-3 win over Columbus on Wednesday night.
Pridie's first homer, a two-run blast to right, gave Durham a 3-0 lead in the opening inning against Emiliano Fruto (3-9).
Mitch Talbot (10-8) allowed hits to his first three batters, but after allowing two runs in the first, settled down to pitch shutout ball over the next five innings.
Pridie added his second homer of the night for a 4-2 lead to cap the Durham scoring, and the Durham bullpen battled against a pesky Columbus team over the final three frames.
Columbus took advantage of two walks in the seventh to score a run on a Melvin Dorta sac fly to right, and then had two on in the eighth with one out. Shawn Camp relieved Jeff Ridgway and struck out the next two hitters to end the threat.
In the ninth, Camp allowed a leadoff double, but then struck out the next two hitters, and got Brandon Watson to fly to center to end the game and preserve Camp's second save as a Bull.
Durham remained 3.5 games behind Richmond in the South Division with the win. The Bulls split two games in Columbus despite an 0-for-18 stretch with runners in scoring position.
The Bulls now face Toledo on Thursday at 7 p.m. Coverage begins at 6:30 on 620 the Bull. JK Ryu starts for Durham.
